2 c. sugar
1 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
3/4 c. Hershey's cocoa
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 c. strong black coffee or 2 tsp. powdered instant coffee plus one cup boiling water
1 c. buttermilk
1/2 c. vegetable oil
1 tsp. vanilla extract
Heat oven to 35o degrees F.
Grease and flour 13x9x2-inch baking pan.
In large mixer bowl, stir together sugar, flour, cocoa, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Add eggs, coffee, buttermilk, oil, and vanilla. Beat on medium speed of electric mixer 2 minutes (batter will be thin).
Pour the batter into prepared pan.
Bake 35-40 minutes or until wooden toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool completely in pan on wire rack.
Frost as desired.
